Executive Committee Minutes
March 12, 1999

1. Calendar Committee. A copy of the proposed academic calendar was distributed. There was some discussion over the timing of Spring Break.

2. Constitution Committee. Reviewed changes suggested at the recent open forum. There were some questions regarding the constitution of the Promotion and Tenure Committee, which will be investigated further.

3. Memorandum from R. Cohen. The Committee considered the issues of rank and privileges for retired faculty.

4. Academic Freedom. The Committee discussed issues of freedom of speech and academic freedom.
