Indiana University Northwest invites the campus and greater Northwest Indiana community to attend its annual Women’s and Gender Studies Student Research Conference on Thursday, March 22 in the Library Conference Center, Room 105 ABC. The campus, community, and friends and families of student participants are encouraged to attend the “Celebrating Our Students” annual conference, themed “Gender Justice, Work, and Power.” The day’s schedule is as follows: 9 a.m. –Welcome and continental breakfast. 9:30 to 12 p.m. – Student paper presentations. 12 p.m. – Lunch is provided. 12:30 p.m. – State Legislator Linda Lawson will deliver a keynote address focusing on the consequences of “Right to Work” legislation and efforts to defund Planned Parenthood. 2:30 p.m. -- Roundtable discussion: “Muslim Women and the Veil.” 4 p.m. – Program concludes.
