IU Northwest to host Off-Broadway hit ‘Our Young Black Men are Dying’ Nov. 17

Powerful play addresses issues faced by young, male African-Americans

The Indiana University Northwest Office of Diversity Programming and the Brother 2 Brother student organization will host a stage performance of “Our Young Black Men are Dying,” at 4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 17 in the Bruce W. Bergland Auditorium of Savannah Hall. This theatrical production will address a series of issues faced by young, male African-Americans.

The production is full of history, passion and sheer drama, with timely and relevant content as real as walking through an urban neighborhood. The historic and relevant performance will serve as a catalyst for meaningful dialogue and positive action – long after the hour-long performance concludes. The call for love and healing is powerful, and will begin immediately following with a discussion led by the performers.

This program is one of several events scheduled through the Diversity Programming Series, which is sponsored by the Office of Diversity Programming. Seating is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
