Humor me! IU Northwest offers adult education class on stand-up comedy writing
Additional non-credit courses focus on career development as well as home staging, photography, line dancing and more
What do you, Sinbad and Rosie O'Donnell all have in common? You are all stand-up comedians! Add your name to the list of famous knee-slappers by enrolling in Comedy Writing for Stand Up, an adult education course offered at Indiana University Northwest.
This non-credit course, starting September 20, will teach you the basic elements of comedy writing as it applies to stand-up. The class will meet 7 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday, concluding October 25.
Seize this opportunity to be the hit at your next barbeque, or better yet, center stage at a comedy venue near you. Comedians-in-training will learn stage persona, professional conduct, networking and how to develop material into routines.
You can even put your wisecracking skills and materials to the test with an end-of-course routine performed in front of a live audience of classmates, friends and relatives! The Comedy Writing for Stand Up class costs $115.
