IU business schools to present the 2011 economic outlook on Nov. 12

Luncheon sponsored by the Lake County Advancement Committee

The IU Northwest School of Business and Economics and the IU Kelley School of Business will present the 2011 economic outlook at a luncheon sponsored by the Lake County Advancement Committee (LCAC) on Friday, November 12. The LCAC luncheon will start at 11 a.m. and will take place at Teibel’s Family Restaurant located in Schererville.

The discussion will be led by the mistress of ceremonies, Anna Rominger, J.D., dean of the IU Northwest School of Business and Economics. Event panelists providing their thoughts regarding the 2011 economic outlook, include:

• Corinne Alexander, Ph.D. - Assistant Professor in Agricultural Economics at Purdue University West Lafayette. Alexander is an Extension Specialist in the area of grain marketing.
• Donald Coffin, Ph.D. – Associate Professor of Economics at IU Northwest School of Business, and Board Economist for the Northwest Indiana Times. Coffin conducts research on the economics of professional sports and urban economic development.
• Jerry Conover, Ph.D. - Director of the Indiana Business Research Center at IU Kelley School of Business. Conover has been an active participant in research and economic development activities for many years and is the past president of the national Association for University Business and Economic Research.
• Timothy Slaper, Ph.D. –Director of Economic Analysis for the Indiana Business Research Center at IU Kelley School of Business. Slaper leads a small research team engaged in all areas of promoting economic development.
• Sreenivas Kamma, Ph.D. - Associate Professor of Finance at IU Kelley School of Business. Kamma’s research interests are in corporate governance and corporate financial policy.
