March 2000 Web News PsycINFO Now Accessible from IU Northwest Library Online Catalog Workstations The wait is over! PsycINFO, the web version of PsychLit is now available on two designated online catalog workstations in the IU Northwest Library Reference Department. Produced by the American Psychological Association, PsycINFO includes over 1.5 million records for research and practical literature in psychology and related fields such as medicine, psychiatry and social work. The database contains indexes to journal articles, book chapters, technical reports and dissertations from 1887 to the present. To access the PsycINFO from the IU Northwest Library online catalog workstations, click the PsycINFO link on the workstation's main menu. To search the database from other IU Northwest campus computers ONLY, go to the IU Northwest Library Home Page's Electronic Information Page and select Connecting from On Campus. From the next screen, choose PsycINFO.
American Chemical Society's Web Site Offers Access to Its Electronic JournalsThe IU Northwest Library recently subscribed to the American Chemical Society's (ACS) electronic journal web service to support the campus' chemistry curriculum and research needs. This web resource features 26 fully interactive ACS journals that provide unlimited access to the journals' full-text, illustrations, figures and supporting information. Users can also access the electronic archive of all journals from January 1996 to the present. Some titles included in electronic format are: Biochemistry, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Environmental Science and Technology and The Journal of Organic Chemistry. More importantly, the most recently published issues are available sooner than the print edition. For more general information on this service, go to: http://pubs.acs.org/journals/faqgen.html.
