Michelle joined the Office of Marketing and Communications at Indiana University Northwest in January 2002 after serving as the marketing manager for Dearborn Financial Publishing (a Kaplan Professional Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Washington Post Company) With more than 20 years of marketing experience Michelle has worked for such companies as Creative Media Group (marketing consulting firm), Herald News Group (newspaper publisher), DMC Management Group (talent management agency), and Mobius Management Systems (content management solutions provider).

Michelle serves on the Board of Directors for America's Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, Board of Directors for the Indiana University Northwest Alumni Association, Lake Area United Way Communications Committee, Lakeshore Public Television Annual Auction Committee, Quality of Life Council Cultural Connections Communications Committee Chair, member of the Northwest Indiana Region Women Initiative, the American Marketing Association, and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
