First Class Police Officer (SMOF) - IU Northwest Police Department IU Northwest has a position open for a First Class Police Officer to patrol IU Northwest properties and provide service to faculty, staff, students and building security. Qualifications: Must be a United States citizen and at least 21 years of age. Must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license. Vision requirement: correctable to 20/50. Applicant must have completed 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of credit from an accredited college or university and have at least 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 grading scale or possess a high school diploma or GED, plus three (3) years previous full-time sworn law enforcement experience. Must possess basic knowledge of computers and basic, accurate typing skills, excellent written and verbal communication, counseling and negotiating skills. Basic knowledge of CPR and First Aid is required. Must be able to pass Physical Agility exam. Successful applicant will also undergo an in-depth background investigation and complete interview.
