Assistant Director (PAO2DV) - Office of Development

The Office of Development is an integral part of IU Northwest.  Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor/Executive Director of Development, the Assistant Director will identify, contact and cultivate current and potential donors to support the activities of IU Northwest. This position will be responsible for fundraising and providing stewardship to donors.  Special projects will include development of the case for private support and the corresponding campaign management.  Constituency audiences will include local community and business leaders, local alumni. 

Qualifications:   A Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing or related field is required.  Must have at least five years of fundraising experience, preferably involving a university setting.  The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of issues and communities in Northwest Indiana including the medical community.  Must have experience in capital campaign planning and fundraising and an understanding of higher education; ability to work independently, determine priorities and have a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.  Good communication skills, both written and verbal; problem solving skills, be able to create spreadsheets and design appropriate queries for databases.
