Degree Requirements

  1. Complete a minimum of 123 credit hours
  2. ENG W131 Elementary Composition
  3. Fulfill one of the following: Two semesters of modern language at second-year level or Western Civilization HIST H113-HIST H114
  4. Arts and humanities, minimum 6 credit hours; social and behavioral sciences, minimum 6 credit hours with a total of 18 credit hours in these two categories; biological sciences, 5 credit hours
  5. Geological Sciences Core Courses
    GEOL G103 Earth Science Materials and Processes
    GEOL G209 History of the Earth
    GEOL G221 Introductory Mineralogy
    GEOL G222 Introduction to Petrology
    GEOL G317 Field and Laboratory Techniques
    GEOL G323 Structural Geology
    GEOL G334 Principles of Sedimentation and Stratigraphy
    GEOL G429 Field Geology in the Rocky Mountains
