IU Northwest High Academic Scholarship

2004-05 Academic Year

These scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students who have not yet received a baccalaureate degree, with the highest cumulative grade point averages (GPA). A minimum 3.50 is required to receive a scholarship. Recipients must also have no more than five “W” grades and no “I” grades (unless an “F” grade for the “I” would still keep the student’s cumulative GPA above a 3.50).

The size of the scholarship will depend on the number of students that are eligible and the funds that are available. Recently, scholarships have been $200 per semester for full-time enrollment (12 or more credits), $150 per semester for 9-11 credits, and $100 per semester for 6-8 credits. No scholarships have been awarded for less than a 6-credit enrollment in a semester.

Each year, the scholarships are awarded at the end of the spring semester, for use in the following fall and spring semesters.

To be eligible for the 2004-05 school year, at the end of the spring semester 2004, a student must:

  1. Have completed at least 24, non-remedial credit hours through the spring
    semester 2004
  2. Have been enrolled for at least 6 credits for BOTH the preceding fall semester 2003 AND spring semester 2004.
  3. Have attempted less than 135 total I.U. credits AND have less than 120
    total I. U. hours passed.

The scholarship can be received in addition to other IU Northwest gift aid sources, as long as the total IU Northwest gift aid does not exceed tuition, educational fees, and required books.
